Goodbye 2009

December always seems to be a laid back month for me and I get out of my routines.

* Got lax with exercise and can tell my clothes are tighter.

* Ate way too many sweets and feel tired and sluggish all the time.

* Played too many computer games and spend way to much time on Facebook.

As the month ends I can see some changes coming in January. I'll get back to the gym, start on an eating plan and limit my time on Facebook and playing games.

That's what new years resolutions are for, right?

Getting Out of Debt

We've been "talking" for months about getting on a budget and getting out of debt. Unfortunately, just talking doesn't get the job done.

Our new years goal is to start a budget, use the envelope system and pay off our truck and credit card in 2010.

It's a huge goal....about $16,000. Even if we don't pay off the entire amount we will be much closer than we are today.

I'm actually excited and look forward to getting started!

Dead Battery

Of all the times to have a dead battery, last night was the worst.

When I went out to the parking lot about 5 p.m. last night to go home, the temperature was around zero with a minus 5 wind chill! Was I ever upset when the car wouldn't turn over!

A very nice young man from Security brought a battery pack and we got it started.

When I got home, Steve put the battery on a charge and we thought it would recharge. Nope, the next morning it was dead again. The weather was cold again with snow and wind so I stayed home from work and made Rice Krispies treats and watched Christmas movies!

Steve bought a new battery after work and put it in. It was minus 5 with a wind chill of -25. Brrrrr.....

I am so thankful for a new battery!
