Thunderstorms

We are having a thunderstorm right now and I love it! Our area has been in a drought for several years and the rain is very much welcomed.

When I was a little girl I was afraid of thunder. My daddy told me think of a huge watermelon truck driving over a bridge and turning over. The thunder was the sound of all the watermelons falling onto the bridge. Such a simple story that brought peace to a little child's mind! Even as an adult I still imagine it and always brings a smile to my face.

Happy Birthday!

Today is my honey's birthday.

I took the day off work and we went shopping and out to lunch. Nothing earth-shattering but it was nice.

We are blessed to have another year together.

A Day of Remembrance

I am so thankful for all the brave men and women that fought (and are still fighting) for the freedom of our country. My husband, father and brother-in-law are among the many that proudly served in our armed forces.

We don't say it enough - thank you! We are so grateful for your service and dedication that has blessed and prospered our wonderful country.

First Experience with Craig's List

We found out this week how easy it is to sell items on Craig's list. I'll be honest, I was a little leary with all the bad publicity recently. It's in my nature to trust people but in the world we live in, we just cannot.

We posted the ad last Sunday and kept the information to a minimum. When we got an e-mail response on Tuesday, I was delighted! Again we kept our response to a minimum and added nothing personal about us.

After a few e-mails back and forth with the interested party, we decided not to reveal our home address but to arrange a meeting at a Burger close to our house.

On Thursday night, the young man bought our 5th wheel hitch. It was probably the easiest $250 we ever made.

Hmmm.....I wonder what else we have to sell?
